Best food in Sri Lanka!
My boyfriend and I absolutely loved it here! Everything we ate was amazing, we were always full but you can never turn down the chocolate and banana roti! You can’t beat the value for money here, and the service is great.. Gayani and her daughter are the friendliest people I met in Sri Lanka! I highly recommend the cooking lesson.. the food is delicious and you can make it again!

Great food, nice place, friendly people
I just love this place! The food is fantastic – always fresh, very delicious and just incredibly cheap. The roti shop is about 5-7 minutes walk from the main road and has a nice garden where you can hang out and make friends with other travellers. And last but not least you should meat Gayani, the owner of the place. She is such a sweetheart. Ps: Try the ice coffee! It’s really good and for sure the best in Mirissa.

Absolutely delicious and inexpensive
Loved it, went back three times. Strongly recommend the hoppers for breakfast (order in advance) and also sweet ginger tea. And the chocolate coconut rote – ridiculously good

Warmest welcome, Tastiest Roti
Found this little gem by accident really and have eaten here on a daily basis since. The Lady who runs the place is one of the nicest people i have ever met. She always welcomes you with a smile and will help you with any queries.

As for the food….WOW!!!! The roti’s here are truely the stuff of dreams. Chocolate, Banoffe as well as well as all fruit and savoury items has ensured i never get tired. Plus the Kotthu is outstandingly fresh. You MUST eat here.. You will not be dissapointed.

Dewmini Roti Shop – near Mirissa Beach Sri Lanka great for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner
We were recommended to this place by other Dutch travellers and at first it was a little difficult to find at night. From the Udupila Junction which is near the Ocean Moon Hotel and zebra crossing in the middle of Mirissa village, Look for Blue signs to ‘ Dewmini Roti Shop’. walk inland a little and then first road on right. It is very safe around here at night and the few dogs are completely harmless. The Dewmini Roti Shop originally with a prime location on the main road had to relocate due to a hotel development. Gayani, Chami and family have worked tirelessly to create small intimate restaurant in their garden with several tables and sunshades. Traditional Rice and Curry (5 separate tasty dishes) is best ordered a little earlier in the afternoon for evening meal but there are lots of other delicious dishes made to order on the menu One of my favourites is devilled chicken (off the bone) with tomato, onion, soy sauce and chlli spices. Gayani will adjust spices if you dont like it too strong. Roti (like a pancake of sorts) can have savoury and sweet fillings at RPS250 £1.50) Mar 12. Sri Lanka is a fertile country and there are many delicious vegetable dishes with noodles or rice. The one thing you have to try as a perfect finish to your meal is the Banana and Chocolate Roti served with Curd or ice cream. There are several small tables for an intimate dinner or a big table under cover for bigger groupls. We met interesting people and shared travel experiences. The odd guitar playing sometimes. The place is not licensed like so many in Sri Lanka but you are welcome to take your own beers/wine purchased from the bottle shop. You are made to feel like one of the family and nothing is too much trouble.

Wow – great food and friendly service
I stumbled on Dewmini Roti Shop whilst out on an early morning run, and what a find it turned out to be. We thought it certainly the best food in Mirissa and after finding it, ate both breakfast and dinner there. Cannot recommend it enough – great food and friendly service!
